Conan O’Brien Live Tour Kicks Off With New Versions of Old Bits…and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog

While most of us were glued to Dancing With the Stars, hoping in vain that Edyta‘s dress would finally fall off, some lucky folks in Eugene, Oregon were enjoying themselves a spectacle of a different, sexier kind:  the first show of Conan O’Brien‘s “Waiting Until the Terms of My NBC Buyout Allow Me to Return to Television” Tour.  Descriptions of Conan’s show make it sound like the wackiest thing since the clown showed up to your nephew’s birthday party drunk off his ass and dragging his sad stripper girlfriend around.  Witnesses say Conan premiered a new character called The Self-Pleasuring Panda…because for some reason he is unable to claim the Masturbating Bear as intellectual property.  Again, god damn you NBC.  Also, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog popped on-stage to make jokes about Portland’s mayor being gay.  And Conan’s old pal Jack McBrayer aka Kenneth the Page showed up to pull the “Rural Policeman Handle,” formerly known as the “Walker Texas Ranger” handle.  How convenient for Conan that he has all these old gags to slightly rework.  If the tour is successful enough, perhaps he will have the money to buy himself a Gillette.  That beard makes him look like a hockey player who refuses to shave for the playoffs.
