Lost Rewind: RIP Frank Lapidus

Last night’s Lost was the most tragic and shocking episode in the history of the show.  I’m actually still reeling from it this morning, trying to sort through all my tangled emotions.  I try to remind myself that it’s only a TV show and the characters aren’t real, but, that doesn’t keep the heartbreak at bay.  Actually, I am now beginning to move out of the shock period and into the anger period.  At first I was just like, “I can’t believe it happened!” and now I’m like, “Why the hell did you have to kill him?  Why?”  The world will just never be the same without Frank Lapidus, airline pilot extraordinaire.  Or should I say, pilot extraordinaire, since he also knew how to fly a helicopter.  God damn, was there anything that dude couldn’t fly?  And tell me…who rocked the Mel Gibson beard better than Frank Lapidus?  There is an empty hole in my soul where Frank used to live, and I don’t think anything will ever be able to fill it – except maybe some Bob Newhart Show reruns where Howard keeps dropping by and Bob has to suppress his annoyance.  There’s just something about a man in a pilot’s uniform, you know?

Yeah, and there was some other dramatic shit too.  But, to be honest, after I knew Frank was screwed, I just stopped paying attention. (Actually, maybe Frank isn’t dead. Maybe he somehow got out of the sub. Let’s all pray.)
