World of Warcraft Announces New Expansion: Warlords of Draenor

Today at Blizzcon the developers of World of Warcraft finally announced the long awaited 5th expansion in the wildly popular MMO, Walrlords of Draenor.

Today’s announcement couldn’t have come at a better time for Blizzard, as it was just announced that the MMORPG had lost over 100,000 subscriptions over the last three months. Some notable changes that I personally am looking forward to, is the updated models. For being such a hugely popular game, Warcraft has infamously refused to update their models.

Speculation surrounding this expansion can finally be put to rest. Also, the question of the level cap is finally answered with a 10 level extension. Many people thought that Blizzard wouldn’t go to 100, but they have put those doubts to rest, resoundingly. So far, the expansion looks pretty cool, although I’m not sure it is “Pull me away from GW2″ cool. Boosting to 90 and garrisons that players can build on their own are a pretty enticing carrot to bring those players who have unsubbed, back.

What are your thoughts on this expansion’s trailer? What has you most excited, and what would you like to see that wasn’t shown in the video above? Let us know in the comments below.

Boost to 90 and play immediately? What’re your thoughts.. slap in the face to the people that actually stuck around or is that OK?

I don’t really like it. I see the need to pull in new gamers, but it thins out the talent in game and causes problems.
