World of Warcraft, Throwback Thursday: The Switcher

Welcome once again, to World of Warcraft Throwback Thursday. Today’s #Wowtbt is the “Switcher” videos. In 2002, Apple launched a campaign showing PC customers, switching to Mac. The commercials were fairly popular, and the ad campaign took off. It was so popular in fact, that the folks at Crafting Worlds [DOT] Com began making videos of Alliance players switching to Horde. Enjoy!

The first video, Paladin to Shaman, was the most popular, as it’s famous “FROST SHOCK” line was used in game by players on both sides. If you ever played a pally in classic WoW, then you can appreciate this video. My good friend Mitch played a Paladin, and his stories about his trouble getting groups are pretty hilarious. My Guild back then, The Crystal Dawn, had two pretty good Paladins that raided regularly, but once they even mentioned switching from healing to any other spec, we would flip out. LOLRET!

This next Switcher video is a play on the Atkins diet as a female human Mage switches to an undead female Mage. If you played a Mage in classic WoW, then you can appreciate this one. Nobody wanted to spend their own hard earned gold on food, so if you had a Mage in your guild, you naturally would ask them to make you a bag of food…FOR FREE! Mages basically became food vendors and portal jockeys.
