Game of Thrones
The Wildling Orell, is a skin changer or Warg, who was a scout in Mance Rayder’s Wildling army. Orell accompanied Tormund Giantsbane’s group, consisting of Jon Snow, Ygritte, and other Wildlings, as a forward scouting party to the Wall. Although Mance Rayder and Tormund Giantsbane seemingly trust Jon Snow, Orell does not.
As a Warg, Orell shares a bond with his eagle, and he can slip into the eagle’s mind, taking control of its consciousness. Several times on their trek to the Wall, Orell and Jon Snow have altercations, with Tormund or Ygritte intervening.
Once the group reached the other side of the Wall, they came across an old man who was a breeder of horses for the Night’s Watch. As Tormund is about to execute the man, Orell stops him, and insists that Jon Snow must do it, to prove he isn’t still a “Crow”.
After Jon refused to kill the old man, a fight ensued, with he and Orell crossing swords. Jon drove his sword through Orell, and whispered to the Wildling Warg that he was right for not trusting him. As Orell was about to die, he sent his fleeting conscious into his eagle, raking Jon Snow’s face with his talons.
Do you think we will see Orell’s eagle in season 4? If so, what role will it play? Let me know in the comments below, and while you’re at it, tell me who you would like to see as the next countdown character.
