The Boondocks Season 4 Trailer

One of the greatest cartoons of our time is back, The Boondocks will return to Adult Swim on April 21st. Finally we can catch up on what Grandad, Riley, and Huey have been getting into.

Boondocks started out as a cartoon strip in The Diamonback the student newspaper of the University of Maryland and has since grown to become a syndicated strip, a cartoon series, and was almost a feature film at one point.

I love The Boondocks because it knows what it’s about. The Boondocks isn’t trying to dumb it down or soften the edges to get more viewers. The Boondocks isn’t for everyone, and it’s not trying to be. I really wish more art, especially animated art, would do this. I don’t hate on a show just because I don’t like it, but if it’s a bad show because it’s trying to be likable… then I can’t stand it.

Check out this trailer for the new season of The Boondocks and tell me you aren’t excited.

A lot has changed since we last caught up with the Freemans. Season 3 of the Boondocks ended in August of 2010. What do you think the boys will make of the world now? Let us know in the comments below.

Check out The Boondocks April 21st at 10:30 on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.
