How HBO's Game of Thrones Was Born

This is the story of a noble family from the North who is thrown into the mad Game of Thrones because the the father of that family is far too noble and kind of stupid… wait, no.  This is actually the story of how that story got made into a T.V. series.

In this amazing video Dan Weiss and David Benioff talk about how they came to love George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire, and how that love turned into a T.V. series.  It’s fascinating to see how George Martin “tested” Weiss and Benioff and how their writing process works.

The most interesting thing in the video may be seeing just  how many people and how much work goes into Game of Thrones.  Anyone can see by watching Game of Thrones that it’s a big undertaking, but you would never guess just how massive it really is.  Game of Thrones truly must be a work of love.

As an added bonus the video is awesomely narrated by Charles Dance who plays Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones.
