There is so much Game of Thrones content out there right now. Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows and TV, and it has a particularly enthusiastic fanbase. (Editors Note: Remember the time that crazy Game of Thrones fan told me not to criticize Sansa Stark because “Sansa is real to me?” People be cray cray.) So it’s pretty hard for creative things to rise out of the Game of Thrones tidal wave of content that sweeps across the internet. In particular there are just so many versions of the Game of Thrones theme song that it’s hard to keep track of all of them… the polka version, the elevator music version, THE GAME OF THRONES THEME MIXED WITH LET IT GO OH THE INTERNETS!
This particular Game of Thrones theme had two big things going for it though. First off it was just outstandingly done… and it was an 80’s version. The internet loves the 80’s. If you lived in the 80’s you probably do have a certain amount of nostalgia for them. Hollywood has tried to take advantage of that nostalgia as best they can. (I will never forgive Michael Bay for what he did to my childhood friends the Transformers.) The only thing the internet would enjoy more than this 80’s Game of Thrones theme is if it was an 80’s style Game of Thrones theme with cats.
So sit back with your new Coke and parachute pants and dream of a Game of Thrones set in Miami.
