Bad baseball isn’t the only thing blinding fans at Royals game – the hot dogs are too.  No, this is not a story about how some guy ate too many wieners at Kauffman Stadium and went blind; it’s about a guy named John Coomer who is suing the Royals because, at a game last summer, their mascot Sluggerrr the Lion threw a wiener into the stands and hit him in the eye.  And why, you might ask, are mascots throwing hot dogs into the stands when they have perfectly good air-guns?  Only Sluggerrr knows the answer to that.  And it’s an answer John Coomer doesn’t care to hear – all he’s concerned about is the $25,000 he wants from the Royals as compensation for the detached retina and cataracts he has suffered since the hot dog incident.    Well, I’ve got news for John Coomer:  the Royals don’t have $25,000.   If they had that kind of money, they wouldn’t be paying their outfielders in Chuck E. Cheese’s coupons.  He’ll have to content himself with having Sluggerrr wash his car every day for the next couple hundred years.  Unless he’d rather just take over the team.  No…that would be more a punishment than a reward.
